Winter classes 2013

Thanks to all for a great Fall session. Your children are an inspiration! Thanks to everyone who helped me with my son’s soccer schedule by coming earlier for pickup. I may have to occasionally ask for the favor again.
This fall we have concentrated on dry media, drawing and bookbinding.
We will move into more 3D building this winter and I will probably send out requests for recycled materials. I appreciate the donations. Please check with me first before you donate. As much as I love junk I have limited storage for 3D!

I have had some requests for an adult printing workshop evening or weekend. If I had 6 people I could run it. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks, Ann

Logistics:
-for new families the door to the studio is down the driveway to the right of the house
-now that it is cold please come into the studio if you are early. I will let you know if I need a few more minutes to set up. We’ll have to keep the door closed because of the winter moths and temperature.
-make sure I am here before you leave your child! (not necessary for middle schoolers)
-send your children in warm clothes, including shoes, that can get paint (and more) on them
-make sure you mark your calendars with these schedules. They are weird. Let me know if you see errors!

Spring is Here!

I spotted 3 bullfrogs and 2 very vocal red-winged black birds at Menotomy Rocks Park this morning! The forsythia is screaming yellow and I can almost see the oak buds opening as I sit on my deck. Spring is here.

Art Classes have started for the Spring Session. Most classes are small so if you have someone who wants to drop in for one class let me know.

Summer Camp: There are still spots in the week of August 20. As of now all other weeks are full however I keep a waiting list- sometimes people change their plans. Let me know if you are interested.

Thank you to the Arlington Center for the Arts for supporting us local artists! On display now is Images of Arlington- a town wide Grade 5 show of local places and an adult show in the Gibbs Gallery. I was fortunate to be recognized for making something from my old bathing suits!

Art Camp Summer 2012
Welcome to Art Camp at 115 Robbins Rd!
I’m looking forward to getting outside with my fellow young artists and playing with the elements. We will spend the mornings playing with bubbles, sand, water, clay and paint (and other materials) as well as working on specific art projects. The projects will be designed so that younger and older students can work at their own level. The art will be a combination of 2D and 3D work- drawing, printing, collage, assemblage and sculpture. We’ll work inside and outside and will take a few trips to Robbins Park over the course of the week for active games. Inspiration comes from fine artists, children’s authors, nature, materials themselves and each other. I am purposely not identifying themes for each week at this point. There will be themes but room for kid’s own also. (possibilities: super heroes, things that move, elements, stories, masks and puppets, recycled art, art/nature, the sea, the forest)
