Winter Art Classes 2022

Welcome to Winter Art!

For the fall I tried to cluster a younger and older group but family logistics took over. So once again I will have multiple age groups so carpooling and getting here works for everybody. Both classes welcome 5-11 yr olds. Projects will continue to be the kind each child can work at their own level. We will continue to wear masks inside and will probably be mostly in the studio. I am not scheduling park visits but will watch the weather closer the start of the session and will plan to go outside if there is beautiful snow to exploit!

I am starting the session at the end of January.

Our focus will be building in 3D using cardboard in the first 4 classes then multi media in the last 4 (wire, fabric, paper, recycled materials, wood)

Here’s what I am planning for the next few months:

Monday 3:30-5pm 8 classes: 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21
Tuesday 2:30-4pm 8 classes: 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22

Fees:
8 class session $180
4 classes- either first 4 or last 4 $100

Open Studios
Monday and Tuesday January 10 and 11 3:30-5pm
Thursdays February 10 and March 10
Drop in time for families to play and use available materials. Let me know the week before if you are coming so I can limit numbers)
$5, $10 max for families

To register: Send me an email with your child's DOB and class preference and I will let you know if there is still space. If so I will send you the registration papers.

Thanks, Ann

Fall Art Classes 2021

Farm country northwest of Toronto

Hello to All! The corn is high and the smell of mature grasses is in the air. I am in Canada visiting family and savoring the August days.

I am offering classes on Mondays and Tuesdays this fall. Unlike prior years the classes will be consecutive. You have the choice of registering for 4 weeks or 8 weeks of the Fall Session, October-November. I am in Canada until 8/30 but have internet and email!

Pandemic Protocols: I want to be hopeful that soon we will be mask free but not yet! So I will continue to use outdoor spaces as much as I can and while indoor, we will all wear masks. I'll use my backyard and the local parks. Park classes will be rescheduled for severe weather.

The Art: The focus for the fall is print making and versatile paper. Projects will use a combination of 2D and 3D materials to explore the possibilities with a variety of printmaking techniques. Experimentation and play is the goal!

I hope to do one park class per 4 class block. We'll move to play with art principles like line, form, texture, symmetry, composition and to exercise our artist senses!

Here is the Schedule:

Gr 2-5 Monday afternoons 3:30-5pm
Fall Block 1 10/4, 10/18, 10/25*, 11/1   *class at Robbins Farm Park
Fall Block 2 11/8, 11/15, 11/22*, 11/29   *class at Menotomy Rocks Park

K-Gr3 Tuesday afternoons 2:30-4pm. Note the earlier time due to school early release on Tuesdays
Fall Block 3 10/5, 10/12, 10/19*, 10/26   *class at Robbins Farm Park
Fall block 4  11/2, 11/9, 11/16*, 11/23.  *class at Menotomy Rocks Park

The age categories I choose are arbitrary and can be flexible to accommodate your schedule.

Open Studios:
Art Play! Open Studios is a chance to visit the studio and choose to make art with materials offered. Or  build with blocks and other building toys. ( I don't lead a project during this time) All family and friends welcome to stay and play. It is a drop in time but registration is required- simply email me and tell me you are coming! (just so I can keep handle on numbers)
2 Thursdays 10/28 and 12/ 2  3:30-5pm
Fees: $5 drop in fee
