Summer Art Camp 2023
Artcamp 2023
What:
Summer Art Camp is a morning program for 5-11yr olds. Art projects are linked to games, stories, playful physical challenges and experimentation with elements like water, sand, clay, bubbles, earth and air. We do individual and collaborative work with a variety of 2D and 3D materials. The work is inspired by nature, fine artists, the materials themselves, and each other. It’s summer and the aim is to get wet, dirty and immersed in the elements!
When: 9am -12noon
Week 1 June 26- June 29 (Monday to Thursday only)
Week 2 July 17- July 21
Week 3 August 7- August 1

-sunscreen (please apply at home)
It is also helpful if you eat breakfast and do a bathroom visit before you come to camp! (full stomach, empty bladder)
Assistants:
I will have an assistant with me from 9-12 each day. They will help
me with materials, bathroom runs, cleanup and the couple of trips to the park.
The Art
Visit my blog for pictures of past projects and summer camp archives. It will give you an idea of the materials I use regularly and the kinds of activities we do at camp. During Summer Camp we will do more with the outdoors and nature for inspiration. Each week will have a loose theme to tie the activities together. Some of the projects will produce products that we can play with outside. Some projects will be collaborative and others will simply be art to look at. There will be free time to experiment with materials.
The media will be a mixture of 2D and 3D.
I’ll let you know the themes later! (Not only do I need time to get it altogether, I also think that a theme does not tell a child what camp’s going to be like)
Registration! Please Read-
I am not going to take registration by email rather by mail (paper). If you would like to register send me an email and I will send you a registration package that you can drop off or mail. When I receive a complete package your child will be registered.

Winter Art Classes 2023
Winter Art Classes 2023
Hello All- I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was full with family and food. Happy digestion!
Our theme this Fall has been trees/forests. Using paint, drawing tools and collage we have represented forests with bright colors and muted night time ones. We’ve drawn branching patterns and made bas relief trees.I am offering a Wed class again, we will see if it runs this time! I am keeping my numbers down this winter. I am limiting the class size to 8. Using the out door space is harder and we fill up the room when we are all inside. I will keep a wait list until registration settles the beginning of January. So sign up early if you would like a spot.
Hopefully Wed will work for some.
Here are the dates for the Winter Session.
Mondays 3:30-5pm 1/9, 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/27, 3/6, 3/13

Fall Update 2022
Hello Everyone-
I am looking forward to the fall session. Monday's class is filling up but there is still room! Wednesday's class needs a few more students to run! Let me know if you are interested.
The Lexfarm class will not run this fall, maybe in the spring. There is now a Monday morning caregiver and child session in the time slot that Art in the Garden was scheduled for.
Stay tuned. If Wednesday's class doesn't run I will offer some drop in Open Studios.

Fall Art Classes 2022
Hi Everyone-
Let’s let the life at the farm inspire us! Come play and make art with natural materials and traditional art media. The garden is a rich source of the elements artists use – color, shape, line and texture. We’ll also visit the animals at neighboring Silk Fields Farm and enjoy the sights and sounds there.
In this 8-class series children will use their senses through games, scavenger hunts, drawing, painting and building. Each class will include an open-ended project as well as time to explore materials through play and get to know the farm environment.
Class size is limited to 10 children with 2 teachers. We’re lucky to have guest teacher Ann Wynne joining us on the farm this fall! Ann is a local artist, art teacher, and seasoned early childhood educator with a background in nature education. You can check out her art blog here. Ann and our lead farm educator, Rachel, are excited to collaborate on this new class series!
Monday Mornings, 9:30-11:30 am
Dates: 9/12, 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7

Members: $235, Non-members: $280
