A Room for Art

A Room for Art is a place to paint, draw, build, print, bind, glue and sculpt. Classes for children and adults are held in a sunny home studio in Arlington, MA. More than a room, it is time and space to work with your hands, enjoy materials and make your ideas concrete.

Location

A Room for Art is located in Arlington Heights at 115 Robbins Road. The Studio is down the driveway on the right side of the house.

I hope you are enjoying the cool nights and mostly sunny days as we approach the fall equinox! I have been lucky to be at LexFarm during the fall harvest season. Let me know you are coming!

Monoprint Workshop for Adults
4 Thursdays 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20 7-9pm
$100 all materials included

For experienced printers who want to experiment without a press and beginners. No experience necessary

We will spend the first 2 classes using different surfaces (‘plates’- anything you apply pigment to and make prints from) like plexiglass, cardboard, foam sheets, styrofoam. We will do as much as we can with simple tempera paint, then use more viscous block printing ink.

For the last 2 classes we'll use geli plates, both the real ones made from gelatin and the synthetic reusable ones and continue with the block printing ink. All the pigments are water soluble.

You will go home with lots of prints for collage, cards or mixed media

The Experiments!
Masking
Ghost prints
Layering
Registering paper

The possibilities are endless!

Thanks
Ann
